I declare that it’s God’s will for your life to go further, that He has great plans for YOU and that the best is yet to come (Jer 29:11)? On whose authority can I make such a blanket prophecy? God’s will for you is to progress to the abundant life that He has in store for YOU.
What’s stopping you from having an abundant life? The state of the country, the economy, the crime? I propose that the problem is not what’s on the outside, it’s what’s on the inside – you can limit God from moving in your life if your thoughts, your inner picture & your faith is weak (Ps. 78:41). We say we need encouragement, a prophet/a sign/a wonder/ ”a word from God”.
When Jesus was in the wilderness and tempted by Satan, He doesn’t solicit a lightning bolt, He simply quotes the Bible. Three temptations, three declarations: “It is written….” Jesus ‘survival weapon of choice is Scripture. If the Bible was enough for His wilderness, shouldn’t it be enough for ours? Don’t miss the point here. Everything you and I need for desert survival (and flourishing) is in the Book. We simply need to heed it.
God already gave us everything we need – He gave us (i) His Son and (ii) His Word. You don’t need more signs and wonders – everything you need is in the Word: the power, the promises – make it your own. The Bible contains 3,000 promises – each one applies, personally, to you and your life. Just imagine – you can have the thoughts and wisdom of God, but it will take time and commitment.
You have to line up your thoughts with God’s Word. A man sees in the world what he carries in his heart – you are the sum total of your thoughts. You are a new creature in Christ – you have to get back to the Word & become who God says we can be. My people perish because of a lack of knowledge (Hos 4:6)
His Word is POWER it is ..”living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Heb 4:12). The words of the Bible have life…. God works through these words! When you are born again all power in the heavenly places is given to you BUT you still have to grow spiritually and renew your mind – you need transformation of your thoughts, by studying the Word of God and let it change you – become a doer of the Word
You cannot afford to disregard the very thing that Yahweh Himself exalted above His own name (Ps 138:2). For God to fulfill His purpose in your life –you have to receive the Word with meekness, it has to be implanted & grow, and of course, you have to believe – stop looking at your circumstances (without faith it is impossible to please God Heb 11:6) and finally, you have to become a doer of the Word – that’s where transformation takes place
Develop a love for the Word and declare it – it is the ultimate source of power, wisdom and faith – God is faithful to keep His word – it is as relevant today as it was 2,000 years ago. But you won’t change your life reading 1 verse of scripture every now and then. The Bible is not a newspaper to be skimmed but rather a mine to be quarried “Search for it like silver, and hunt for it like hidden treasure. Then you will understand respect for the Lord, and you will find that you know God”. (Prov 2:4-5)
